A new DSA (Domain-Specific Architecture) computing laboratory has officially launched in Shanghai Pudong Software Park, jointly established by the RISC-V Working Committee, Shanghai Pudong Software Park, and Sunzhen Technology.
As AI computing demands explode, the 'one-size-fits-all' approach of general-purpose computing architectures faces growing inefficiency. DSA represents a paradigm shift toward domain-specific computing optimization, balancing efficiency with in-domain flexibility.
The laboratory's first batch of partners, including Shenzhen Honghan Microelectronics, will accelerate breakthroughs in RISC-V architecture for DSA applications. At the launch ceremony, Xinsheng Technology, Sunzhen Technology, and Honghan Micro signed strategic cooperation agreements.
Industry experts noted that while general-purpose CPU architectures have dominated computing for decades, the AI era demands a shift from 'general computing' to 'domain-specific computing.'
This launch is part of Pudong's broader push to build a complete embodied AI industry ecosystem.
