Perceptual Robotics Secures Fresh Funding to Scale Autonomous Wind Turbine Inspection Platform
Perceptual Robotics has secured fresh funding to scale its autonomous wind turbine inspection platform. Loggerhead Ventures led the round, with follow-on investment from One Planet Capital. The Thessaloniki-based company announced the deal on May 5, 2026. AI-Powered Drone Inspection Platform: The company combines autonomous drones and artificial intelligence to inspect wind farms. Its platform captures high-resolution data, classifies damage, and delivers comprehensive reports within 48 hours. The system also provides repair prioritization and cost-estimation tools, enabling wind farm operators to act earlier and target the most critical defects. Proven Track Record: The technology has already processed thousands of wind turbine inspections and more than one million images. Roughly 65 percent of repairs are unplanned, driven by infrequent and costly inspection cycles. A minor defect costing around 5,000 euros can escalate into repair bills exceeding 500,000 euros. Perceptual Robotics says its automated approach delivers up to a 30 percent reduction in overall maintenance costs and a 50 percent cut in inspection costs. Funding Allocation: The platform supports predictive maintenance, helping operators address issues before they become critical failures. It also limits high-risk manual inspections, improving safety for technicians. This new funding will enable us to scale our operations and further strengthen support for our customers, as we become the #1 solution for wind farm owners and service providers taking control of their inspections with their own teams, said Kostas Karachalios, CEO and Co-Founder of Perceptual Robotics. Dr. Evangelos Kosmidis, CEO and General Partner at Loggerhead Ventures, stated: The energy transition is not just about generating clean energy, its also about ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of the infrastructure that supports it. Perceptual Robotics addresses a critical, yet often overlooked challenge in wind energy by using technology that turns data into actionable decisions. Matt Jellicoe, Co-Founder and Investment Director at One Planet Capital, added: PR has developed significantly over the last 12 months, showing strong customer pipeline conversion and high levels of industry interest as operators appreciate how much they can bring down inspection costs. Consequently, we were very positive about supporting the business at this stage of its development.
