Agility Robotics Plans New Funding Round at $2B Valuation, Expands RoboFab to 10,000 Units Annually

Investment and Growth Strategy

During a fireside chat at the 2026 Abundance Summit, Agility Robotics CEO Peggy Johnson disclosed the company's current valuation at approximately $2 billion (13.7 billion yuan). The company plans to conduct a new funding round later this year, with proceeds allocated to expanding its RoboFab factory in Salem, Oregon.

Production Expansion

Agility Robotics plans to expand its RoboFab factory's annual production capacity to 10,000 units. Located in Salem, Oregon, the factory covers approximately 70,000 square feet (6,503 square meters) and will be expanded with modular workstations to support rapid capacity increases.

Next-Generation Digit Robot

The upcoming fifth-generation Digit robot will feature a lifting capacity of 50 pounds (approximately 22.68 kg), suitable for intensive heavy-duty warehouse operations. Currently, the Digit robot operates at a cost of $10-25 per hour (approximately 68.50-171.26 yuan per hour). The company aims to reduce operational costs to $2-3 per hour (approximately 13.70-20.55 yuan per hour) in the future.

Strategic Partnerships and Deployment

Agility Robotics has established extensive partnerships with companies including Amazon, Toyota, and NVIDIA. The company has deployed its robots in over 10 logistics centers with China Post and SF Express, achieving near-human performance in harsh environments such as high temperature and humidity. Some robots have already achieved 24/7 uninterrupted operation, with delivery volume growing at 300% in Q2 2026.

Management Team

CEO Peggy Johnson previously held executive positions at Qualcomm and Microsoft. CTO Pras Velagapudi is a Carnegie Mellon University graduate who previously worked at Amazon Robotics (Kiva Systems) and contributed to the development and deployment of Amazon's warehouse automation system.

Market Impact

If Agility Robotics successfully achieves its annual production target of 10,000 units, it will be able to mass-produce intelligent mechanical labor capable of 24/7 shift operations for the most challenging positions in warehousing, effectively filling industry labor gaps and alleviating labor shortage pain points.
