Nyobolt Raises $60M Series C, Reaches $1B Valuation for AI Robotics Power Solutions

Nyobolt, the Cambridge-based energy technology company specializing in ultra-fast charging battery systems, has announced a significant milestone in its growth trajectory. The company has secured $60 million in Series C funding, reaching a $1 billion valuation as it scales its power solutions for robotics, automation, and AI infrastructure.

Strategic Investment Led by Symbotic

The funding round was led by Symbotic, the Nasdaq-listed robotics technology company focused on supply chain automation. This strategic partnership goes beyond financial investment—Nyobolt's batteries are already being used in Symbotic's SymBot autonomous mobile robots, providing six times more energy capacity than the ultracapacitors previously used. The batteries are also described as 40% lighter and capable of at least ten times the cycle life of traditional lithium-ion technology, supporting demanding 24/7 warehouse operations.

Addressing the Energy Bottleneck in Robotics

As autonomous machines expand beyond controlled factory environments into warehouses, hospitals, logistics networks, and urban settings, the need for reliable, fast-charging power solutions has become critical. Current battery systems often struggle to meet the requirements of continuous operation, creating a bottleneck for companies deploying automation at scale. Nyobolt's technology combines proprietary anode materials, advanced cell design, and integrated power electronics to deliver fast charging, high power density, and extended durability.

Expansion Beyond Robotics

While robotics remains a key focus, Nyobolt is also targeting AI data centers, where high-performance GPU systems create sudden and intense power loads. The company argues that legacy backup power and UPS infrastructure were not built for the transient demands created by large-scale AI workloads. As part of this broader push, Nyobolt has signed a memorandum of understanding with the state of Rajasthan in India to support more than 100MW of off-grid AI data centers and power management infrastructure.

Market Position in the [Physical AI](/glossary/embodied-ai) Era

Nyobolt's expansion reflects a wider shift in energy infrastructure as AI moves from software-driven environments into machines and industrial systems. The company is positioning itself as a supplier of 'instant power' technology for customers that need higher uptime, faster charging, and lower operating disruption. With growing patent portfolio and global footprint, Nyobolt is competing in markets where power reliability is becoming a core requirement rather than a secondary feature.

The Series C round gives Nyobolt additional resources to scale its technology at a time when robotics, automation, and AI infrastructure are placing new pressure on traditional energy systems. The relationship with Symbotic provides a high-profile commercial validation point, while the planned work in India signals ambitions beyond warehouse robotics.
