Figure AI has unveiled Figure 03, its third-generation general-purpose humanoid robot, marking a significant strategic pivot from industrial applications toward consumer and home environments. Standing 1.68 meters tall and weighing 60 kg (9% lighter than Figure 02), Figure 03 features 44 degrees of freedom across the body. The robot is powered by Helix, Figure AI's proprietary vision-language-action (VLA) model, enabling real-time perception, natural language command understanding, and complex manipulation execution. Key innovations include: custom tactile fingertip sensors detecting forces as small as 3 grams; embedded palm cameras providing close-range visual feedback; soft exterior covering with multi-density foam eliminating pinch points; and wireless inductive charging at 2 kW. The BotQ manufacturing facility in San Jose has an initial capacity of 12,000 units per year, with a target of 100,000 cumulative production within 4 years.
