Seres Group, the Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer known for its collaboration with Huawei on the AITO brand, has officially entered the embodied intelligence race with the unveiling of its first humanoid robot 'XiaoSai' at the Chongqing Longxing Super Factory on June 15, 2026.
The robot, demonstrated in a visit by Chinese actor Huang Bo, features visual recognition capabilities that allow it to proactively greet visitors and engage in natural voice interaction. Beyond the humanoid form, Seres showcased multiple self-developed industrial robots including logistics bots, collaborative robots, and two specialized quality inspection robots — XiaoSai 01 for chassis assembly inspection and XiaoSai 02 for vehicle exterior quality checks.
'This debut marks only the beginning of our embodied intelligence布局,' said Kang Bo, Seres Group Director and Vice President. 'We have multiple categories of embodied intelligent robots in development, with the full product line expected to launch within this year.'
Seres' super factory already operates over 1,600 intelligent devices and 3,000+ industrial robots, with 100% automation in key processes. To accelerate its robotics push, Seres has established Shanghai Seres Fenghuang Technology Co., Ltd., focusing on intelligent robot R&D and AI algorithm development, and signed an embodied intelligence cooperation agreement with ByteDance's Volcano Engine.
Industry analysts view Seres' move as a typical 'second growth curve' transformation for automakers, leveraging accumulated EV technologies — electrification, intelligence, and supply chain capabilities — to build a 'car + robot' dual ecosystem.
