DYNA-1: Dyna Robotics Launches First Commercial-Ready Embodied AI Robot Foundation Model
Dyna Robotics, a California-based company, has unveiled DYNA-1, claiming it to be the first commercial-ready 'robot foundation model' capable of operating fully autonomously for over 24 hours in real-world environments. In a 24-hour test, DYNA-1 autonomously folded more than 800 napkins with a 99.4% success rate, operating at 60% of human throughput. The robot exhibits 'zero-shot environment generalisation' - the ability to learn a task in one environment and repeat it successfully in another. Co-founder York Yang stated: 'Foundation models are more adaptive, and DYNA-1 is the first embodied AI model to deliver high-quality results at speeds that enable commercial viability.' The company, founded by former DeepMind research scientists and Caper AI co-founders, is in discussions with commercial partners about deployment opportunities.
