BYD's Di Space Zhengzhou venue teased the Xiaodi humanoid for an early-August public debut — a 1.61 m, 58.5 kg showroom robot with 31 DOF — while the company officially denied the 'Yao-Shun-Yu' prototype and mass-deployment rumors.

AMD Launches Kria AI Robotics Developer Platform With Ryzen AI Embedded X100, Challenging NVIDIA Jetson
AMD unveiled Kria AI Solutions at Advancing AI 2026 — an open, turnkey robotics development platform powered by Ryzen AI Embedded X100 with CPU+GPU+NPU+FPGA unified architecture, claiming 3.4x real-time performance over NVIDIA Jetson T5000.

Generative Bionics Unveils Gene.01 Humanoid with Full-Body Tactile Sensing at AMD Advancing AI 2026
Italian deep tech company Generative Bionics has unveiled Gene.01, an industrial-focused humanoid robot combining full-body tactile sensing with physical AI capabilities, introduced at AMD Advancing AI 2026. Built in just six months, Gene.01 features distributed tactile skin across its entire body capable of detecting touch, temperature, proximity, and force — enabling the robot to safely anticipate human presence and adjust interactions in real time. The platform is already heading to its first industrial deployment through a strategic collaboration with global shipbuilder Fincantieri, targeting shipyard welding tasks. Generative Bionics has also open-sourced Gene.01's digital twin across PyPI, conda-forge, and ROS build channels, and is partnering with German actuator specialist Synapticon on an EU-protected actuation stack. Spun out of the Italian Institute of Technology in 2024, the company raised €70 million in late 2025.

Quectel Launches Wheel-Arm Embodied Robot Platform with Self-Developed Dual-Brain Controller
Quectel has unveiled its wheel-arm embodied robot platform at WAIC 2026, featuring a bio-inspired dual-brain architecture that separates high-level reasoning from real-time motion control. The platform integrates omnidirectional mobility, dual-arm manipulation, and end-to-end autonomous task execution — from voice command to physical action.

X-Humanoid Debuts at WAIC 2026 with Embodied AI Solutions for Five '3D' Scenarios
X-Humanoid made its official debut at WAIC 2026 in Shanghai, unveiling embodied AI solutions for five '3D' (dirty, dangerous, dull) scenarios, built on its Embodied Tiangong body system and the Huisi Kaiwu large-and-small-brain platform.

Generative Bionics Unveils Gene.01, a Smart-Skin Humanoid Platform Built in Just Six Months
Italian deep tech firm Generative Bionics unveiled Gene.01, a sensorized humanoid built in six months with full-body tactile skin, physics-native AI and an open-sourced digital twin. Its first industrial use case is a welding humanoid for Fincantieri shipyards, backed by an $81M seed round.

Sunday Robotics Previews ACT-2: 99.1% Zero-Shot Laundry Folding Across Unseen Homes
Sunday Robotics has previewed ACT-2, the first robotics model to achieve reliability by unifying broad generalization with high performance. The model achieves 99.1% zero-shot success on laundry folding across 785 autonomous attempts, covering 9 garment types across diverse unseen homes. Key breakthroughs include: single fine-tuning example teaching a new behavior that generalizes, the closing of the generalization gap through scaled pretraining, and a 4.72/5 mean fold quality score. The company plans to deploy Memo robots to families through a Beta Program this fall.
