Zhiyuan Innovation (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. — the company behind the Agibot robot lineup — confirmed on July 24 that it has formally started its Hong Kong listing process. It becomes the second Chinese humanoid leader to move on public markets in weeks, after Unitree Robotics won approval for its STAR Market IPO. Market reports put Zhiyuan's target valuation at around $20 billion.

The Numbers Behind the Filing

The company's claim to the top spot is unusually well-documented for a three-year-old startup. Per Omdia, Zhiyuan shipped more than 5,100 general-purpose humanoid robots in 2025 — roughly 39% of the global market, ranking No.1 worldwide. Per China Insights Consultancy (CIC), it is the world's largest general-purpose AI robot company by revenue, measured across 2025 and Q1 2026.

The revenue trajectory explains the "fastest-growing" narrative: chairman and CEO Deng Taihua disclosed that revenue went from about RMB 300,000 in 2023 to RMB 60 million in 2024 to RMB 1.05 billion in 2025 — roughly 20x per year — with "several-fold" growth targeted for 2026 and a strong first quarter already booked. Co-founder, president and CTO Peng Zhihui — better known as the maker-celebrity "Zhi Hui Jun" — remains the public face of its engineering culture.

From 1,000 to 15,000 Units in 18 Months

Production scale is the other half of the story. Zhiyuan's cumulative output passed 1,000 units in January 2025, 5,000 in December 2025, 10,000 in March 2026, and 15,000 on June 28, 2026. Its product matrix now spans wheeled, semi-humanoid, full humanoid and quadruped platforms, orchestrated by a "one body, three intelligences" full-stack model covering locomotion, interaction and task intelligence. In June, multiple Genie G2 units ran a six-day livestreamed shift on Longcheer's tablet production line in Jiangxi with a 99.99% task success rate — the deployment evidence IPO investors will want to see.

What the Listing Signals

Structurally, Zhiyuan completed its shareholding reform in November 2025 and already controls an A-share listed company (Shangwei New Materials), setting up an "A+H" dual capital platform. Its cap table includes Tencent and Hillhouse vehicles; Deng controls the company through three partnerships. His "358 plan" sketches the ambition: first RMB 1 billion revenue in three years (done), 10,000 deployed units and RMB 10 billion revenue within five years, ecosystem scale within eight. Notably, Deng says over three-quarters of R&D staff and spending go to the robot's "big and small brains" — the model stack, not the body.

For the sector, the queue is forming: Unitree, Zhiyuan, and reportedly EngineAI, Galbot, LimX Dynamics and Leju are all moving toward listings. Humanoid robotics is exiting the demo era and entering the capitalization era — with shipment share, not backflips, as the new currency of leadership.
