RoboSense, the world’s largest supplier of lidar products for robotics, and GenRobot.AI, a specialist in first-person human-action data for embodied AI, announced a strategic partnership at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai.

The collaboration addresses one of embodied AI’s most critical challenges: acquiring sufficiently rich and accurate real-world training data. The partnership will pair RoboSense’s advanced 3D sensing technology with GenRobot.AI’s data infrastructure for embodied intelligence, focusing on collecting multi-view egocentric data and building multimodal datasets combined with three-dimensional representations of physical environments.

GenRobot.AI brings a proprietary Data Foundation Model (DFM) that operates within a closed-loop data pipeline, maintaining hand-tracking accuracy of under one centimeter and reconstructing hand poses with millimeter-level precision. Its Gen DAS hardware captures synchronized egocentric data from multiple viewpoints covering head, hands, and full body movements. The company has deployed its automated data-production system, Gen ADP, across more than 10,000 real-world settings in homes, manufacturing facilities, logistics centers, and healthcare environments, generating a cumulative data pool exceeding one million hours of human activity.

RoboSense, best known for its lidar and perception technologies, has been expanding from automotive sensing into a broader robotics platform encompassing sensors, proprietary chips, and embodied AI solutions. Its products are used across more than a dozen robotics categories, including humanoid and quadruped robots as well as autonomous commercial cleaning machines.

The resulting infrastructure from this partnership will support the development of physical AI systems that must learn to perceive and interact with the real world, addressing a fundamental bottleneck in the embodied AI industry.
