Three Capabilities Validated On Stage
At WAIC 2026 in Shanghai, PNDbotics presented its Adam full-size humanoid robot with three concurrent technical demonstrations. Standing at 167cm with 43 degrees of freedom, Adam showcased stair climbing in a simulated step environment, proving its dynamic balance and locomotion robustness in unstructured settings. This represents the first public exhibition of Adam's stair-climbing capability in a trade show context.
Alongside stair climbing, the robot demonstrated motion capture and teleoperation capabilities. Through a motion capture system, human operator movements are mapped in real-time to the robot with high precision and low latency, while remote teleoperation showcases the company's human-robot interaction and control technology stack.
Dual VLA Model Validation
In a particularly notable demonstration, two Adam-U upper-body robots were placed side-by-side, each running a different embodied intelligence model. Both units simultaneously performed VLA (Vision-Language-Action) pick-and-place tasks driven by natural language instructions, executed independently by their respective models.
This dual-model setup serves two purposes: it validates Adam-U as an open and adaptable hardware platform compatible with multiple AI models, and it demonstrates the robot's role as a data collection device—Adam-U concurrently performs motion capture data acquisition, generating high-quality real-robot data for reinforcement learning and imitation learning model training.
From Core Components to Full System
PNDbotics also displayed its in-house core components including motors, drivers, and reducers. The company's proprietary PND-Network real-time communication system supports high-bandwidth, low-latency control for 100+ and potentially 200+ degree-of-freedom nodes, providing a foundational technology base for multi-robot coordination and scaled deployment.
Production Acceleration
Since completing a multi-hundred-million-yuan funding round in February 2026, PNDbotics has been accelerating mass production delivery through its dual intelligent manufacturing centers in Ningbo and Tianjin. The company's vertical integration approach—from core component development through full-stack motion control to complete robot systems—positions it competitively in China's rapidly scaling humanoid robotics market.
