London-based Humanoid has emerged as Europe's first humanoid robotics unicorn following a $152 million Series A round that values the two-year-old company at $1.35 billion post-money.
Led by Prime Movers Lab, the round includes participation from industrial heavyweights Schaeffler and Bosch, alongside Fubon Financial Holding Venture Capital and Aglaë Ventures. The financing brings Humanoid's total raised capital to $270 million, marking the largest Series A ever for a humanoid-first robotics company in Europe.
From Factory Trials to Commercial Deployment
Rather than entering the crowded consumer robotics space, Humanoid is targeting repetitive physical tasks in logistics, manufacturing, retail and other industrial environments designed around human movement. The company's wheeled humanoid platform is engineered to work alongside existing factory infrastructure without requiring extensive facility modifications.
According to Humanoid, it has completed nine industrial deployments and accumulated 34,000 robot pre-orders, representing a commercial pipeline valued at approximately $2.4 billion.
Schaeffler Partnership and Manufacturing Scale-Up
One of the company's most significant commercial agreements is a planned deployment with Schaeffler covering an estimated 1,000 to 2,000 robots across the industrial supplier's global manufacturing sites by 2032. Initial deployments are expected to begin at two German facilities between December 2026 and June 2027, focusing on box handling, production testing and integration with existing factory systems under a Robot-as-a-Service model.
Schaeffler will also supply more than half of the joint actuators required for Humanoid's wheeled platforms through 2031. Meanwhile, Bosch will serve as a contract manufacturing partner, providing hardware design, production and supply chain technical support.
What the Funding Will Build
The new capital will fund three key areas:
- Development and launch of its next-generation humanoid robotics platform
- Long-term commercial deployments at customer facilities across logistics, manufacturing, retail and other sectors, beginning with Beta version robots in Q4 2026
- Mass manufacturing of wheel-based humanoid robots, alongside AI and software development including its proprietary KinetIQ AI brain
"This investment marks a defining moment for Europe's technology ecosystem," the company said in a statement. "It demonstrates that globally competitive Physical AI companies can be built and scaled in Europe."
Humanoid was founded two years ago and has established partnerships with SAP, NVIDIA, Bosch and Siemens. Its path to general-purpose humanoid robots prioritizes industrial utility first, with the KinetIQ AI platform serving as the software foundation for increasingly capable deployments.
