Daedong Robotics, the artificial intelligence (AI) robotics affiliate of Daedong Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for joint research and development cooperation with GS E&C, focusing on construction site automation and smart construction technology.\n\n## Partnership Focus Areas\n\nThe agreement establishes cooperation across three key areas:\n\n1. Reviewing deployment of existing Daedong AI field robots at GS E&C construction sites\n2. Cooperation on smart construction operations and new technology development\n3. Joint R&D of construction site-specialized robots and proof of concept (PoC) work\n\n## Company Responsibilities\n\nDaedong Robotics will leverage its autonomous driving robot platform to design and advance construction-optimized robots, while GS E&C will provide construction sites for demonstrations and field requirements from the operator perspective.\n\n## Business Expansion\n\nDaedong Robotics is rapidly expanding beyond agriculture into manufacturing, construction, and defense sectors. Following its fruit-gathering robots and in-house logistics robots, the company is pursuing construction material transport robots. The company plans to transition to a data-based Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) platform by 2030.\n\n## Executive Quote\n\nCEO Kang Sung-chul of Daedong Robotics stated: 'Construction sites are places where repetitive work and the transport of heavy objects are concentrated in unstructured environments, making them an optimal expansion stage where Daedong Robotics can leverage the technology and know-how it has accumulated at agricultural sites. By combining GS E&C's rich field experience with Daedong Robotics' demonstration-based AI technology, we will produce tangible results in construction automation.'
