AheadForm (首形科技), a Shanghai-based ultra-bionic humanoid robotics startup, has completed a "hundreds of millions" yuan A2 funding round. The round was co-led by CITIC Goldstone (中信金石) and Geely Capital (吉利资本), with participation from CICC International Capital, Guotai Junan Innovation Investment, Junli Capital, and others. Existing investor Shunwei Capital (顺为资本), the venture firm founded by Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, provided follow-on investment.
Rapid Financing Pace
The A2 round comes just three months after the company announced its A1 round in April 2026, which was co-led by Huakang Fund and a major internet company. That round was also sized at "hundreds of millions" of yuan, indicating strong investor momentum in China's bionic humanoid space.
Founded in 2024 by Hu Yuhang, a Columbia University PhD and former NSF AI Institute researcher, AheadForm focuses on high-end ultra-bionic humanoid robots for service and social interaction scenarios. The company is an invited developer at the National Local Co-constructed Humanoid Robot (Shanghai) Innovation Center.

Its proprietary AI-driven facial motion algorithm generates fluid natural expressions, eye movements, and voice-linked animations — positioning the company in a different competitive lane than industrial humanoid players like Unitree or Agibot.
The A1 round in April 2026 was earmarked for multimodal embodied interaction systems and emotional base model iteration, optimization of bionic facial core components and materials, and expansion into global markets. The A2 round's focus on mass production signals that the company is moving from R&D toward commercial deployment.
